Immunoglobulins
The function of antibodies in the body is performed by glycoproteins known as immunoglobulins. Immunoglobulins, as part of the immune system, can identify and neutralise foreign objects (bacteria and viruses). The liquid component tear film contains water with dissolved salts. It is sodium, potassium, chlorine, urea, glucose, oxygen, proteins – albumin, lactoferrin, lysozyme and immunoglobulins.
