Osmolarity

Osmotic concentration, expressed as the total amount (in moles) of active particles (particles not undergoing membrane regardless of their size or electrical charge), dissolved in 1 litre of solution (usually water). This is a generic parameter, and the quality of the aqueous mucus layer of the tear film. It is given in mOsm /l.
