How to select parameters?
Power (PWR/SPH)
Power or sphere refers to the refractive power of the contact lens. Look for a plus (+) or minus (-) sign. Note that an equals sign (=) may be used in place of a minus sign.
- dioptres are for problems with near vision (far-sightedness)
+ dioptres are for problems with distance vision (near-sightedness)
Curvature (BC)
The base curve describes the curvature of the contact lens surface, i.e. how well the lens fits the shape of your eye.
Diameter (DIA)
The diameter is the width of the contact lens (measured in millimeters). It is not recommended to select a new diameter size without first consulting your optician. Diameter impacts the fit, comfort and functionality of your lenses.
Cylinder (CYL)
The cylinder measurement is used for the correction of astigmatism. It is a negative value that corrects curvature of the cornea.
Cylinder Axis (AX)
The cylinder axis measurement is used for the correction of astigmatism. The value ranges from 0° - 180° and determines the exact position of corneal curvature.
Addition (ADD)
Addition is the difference between the dioptric value for distance vision and the dioptric value for near vision. It indicates the magnifying power in multifocal lenses.

I have recently been using Air Optix HydraGlyde from Alcon, but am willing to experiment with a different brand. Would the Lenjoy Monthly Comforts be a possible replacement, and suitable for me ?

The base curve and diametre of both kinds of lenses is the same, thus an eventual switch to Lenjoy should not cause any discomfort to your eyes.
However, we still advise to consult your optician in case you are contemplating a change of brands.

I wear day and night contacts. My eyes are dry and I choose to wear them for convenience working shifts. Now I would like to try your monthly lenses do you think they would be as good as my original ones or should I stay with the ones I am using

I am using SoftLens 38 and I'm interested in switching to Lenjoy Monthly Comfort. However, my base curve is 8.7 and Lenjoy only offers 8.6.
Also, do I need aspheric design of the lenses, when I am only trying to correct my shortsightedness -4.25? Thank you-

Switching to different lenses can be tricky, even when, like in this case, it
is suggested that SofLens 59/38 may be substituted. One point difference in the
base curve doesn't normally make much difference, but the best way would be to
give them a try. The spheric/aspheric aspect is something you may have to
discuss with your eye doctor.
